After the death of his father, Maharajah Ranjit Singh, the previous ruler of the Sikh empire, Maharaja Duleep Singh is placed on the throne at the age of five. In 1849, when Punjab is annexed to British India, the young prince is removed from the throne and separated from his mother. He is put under the guardianship of British surgeon Dr. John Login. At the age of 15, Duleep Singh is sent to England where he meets Queen Victoria. A relationship between the two develops.
Duleep Singh is eventually able to reestablish contact with his mother and as a result begins to reconnect with the culture of his birth. Duleep attempts to return to India to reclaim his kingdom, but is continually thwarted by British colonial politics.

Sulochana Dubey, nicknamed Sulu, is a middle-class housewife staying in Virar with her family. Sulu enjoys her life to the fullest with her husband and 11-year-old son. The film opens with an ancient Chinese mother and daughter. They seem to spend happy moments with each other with the mother being pregnant. The movie then moves to the present where a happy couple Krishnakanth aka Krish (Siddharth) and Lakshmi (Andrea Jeremiah) make love, bringing in their memories of the times they met and how their love blossomed. They suddenly notice that a new family is moving into the next house. Krish is a neurosurgeon who specializes in deep brain stimulation (DBS) to cure Parkinson’s. He is close to another doctor, Dr. Prasad, who is a psychiatrist.
The two families get along well, with Jennifer aka Jenny, who is the eldest daughter having a crush on Krish. Everything goes well when suddenly during a dinner party, Krish sees Jenny jumping into the nearby well. Informing the family, he jumps into the well and saves her. Lakshmi who got angry on Krish for jumping into the deep well, quarrells with him on that night after which Krish forcefully kisses her and both ends up in having sex. That very night, Jenny is attacked with seizures and once again, Krish helps her in time. During another dinner at Krish’s house, Jenny panics by seeing a strange figure and her parents forcefully take her home. The people in the house start noticing strange things. The next morning, Jenny, once again without being self-aware, goes towards a cliff to jump, Sarah, who follows her, slips towards another cliff, but is saved by Krish.

Filming took place in Abu Dhabi, Austria, Greece and Morocco. The last song of the movie was shot in the Aegean island of Naxos, Greece in October 2017. Iranian actor Sajjad Delafrooz was roped in to play the role of Abu Usman, leader of terrorist organization ISC. Sajjad Delafrooz had worked in the 2015 Hindi film Baby.
Excluding Salman Khan’s fees, the rest of the film’s production budget is reportedly ₹140 crore (US$22 million). This would make it one of the most expensive Yash Raj Films productions, along with Thugs of Hindostan.

Im Cheol-ryung (Hyun Bin) is an officer of a special investigation team in North Korea. His team goes to a disturbance at a warehouse that prints counterfeit money. Im Cheol-ryung’s superior Cha Ki-seong (Kim Joo-hyuk) and his own team are there to steal the master plates to print the counterfeit money. A shootout takes place and, in the process, Im Cheol-ryung is shot and others killed.
North Korean officials later learn that Cha Ki-seong has fled to South Korea. Im Cheol-ryung is ordered to capture Cha Ki-seong and retrieve the stolen master plates. He is given only three days to complete his mission. For the first time, South Korea and North Korea decide to cooperate to catch a criminal. South Korean officials though have doubts whether Cha Ki-seong is really a killer. Detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin) from Seoul is ordered to watch over Im Cheol-ryung tightly while he is in South Korea.

Manga (Kapil Sharma) is an uneducated and jobless young man who dreams of joining the Police Force but fails at every attempt made to do so. Kumail is a young Chicago standup comedian who drives for Uber and performs at night. Though he has a one-man show about his Pakistani background, he has no faith in Islam, a fact he conceals from his Muslim family. During a show, Kumail is heckled by Emily, a non-Muslim white woman in the audience. He approaches her after the show and their one-night stand develops into a relationship. Kumail does not tell his family about Emily, as they would disapprove. When Emily finds pictures of the women Kumail’s parents have set him up with, Kumail admits he does not see a long-term future with her due to his family’s expectations. Satyendra aka Sattu (Rajkummar Rao) and Aarti (Kriti Kharbanda) meet for a proposed arranged marriage and fall in love in the process. Sattu is a clerk. And Aarti wants to be PCS officer and wants to work after marriage. Accepting to her demands Sattu falls in love with Aarti. They share a beautiful bonding having fallen for each other. On the day of marriage Aarti’s sister Abha comes to know that Sattu’s mother is unaware of the fact that sattu has accepted Aarti working after marriage and is completely against it. On the night of their marriage, the results of the PCS exam attempted by Aarti gets out and she has passed it successfully. Abha advises that she should run away from the marriage and excel professionally, otherwise, her in-laws will destroy her life just like how Abha’s in-laws destroyed Abha’s life. Aarti in huge dilemma chooses her career over love and runs away. Sattu gets devastated and heart broken and his family also gets badly humiliated. He then decides to take up IAS and excel in his life and career.
5 years later, both cross paths and the story takes an interesting turn when Satyendra, now an IAS officer, is assigned the case of framed PCS officer Aarti. Satyendra tries to take revenge from Aarti by humiliating her during the case enquiry. He tests her innocence/character at many instances. At one point he also arrests and puts her in jail (later revealed to save her life). Finally, Satyendra proves Aarti’s innocence and convinces the Jury for the same. Aarti and her family gets happy and credits Satyendra for his noble gesture. Aarti now madly fallen for Sattu once again tries to convince him to marry her but Satyendra being deeply hurt doesn’t wants to marry anyone ever again in his life. After few months Aarti and her parents arrange marriage for Aarti and Sharad (later revealed to be her sister Abha’s husband). This makes Sattu jealous. After few dramatic encounters, On the wedding day Sattu proposes her for marriage. It is after revealed that, it was a plan framed by both Sattu’s and Aarti’s family to make them get married.
Finally they both get married…
