    Muthuvel Pandian is a retired police officer living in Tamil Nadu with his family. Muthuvel’s son, ACP Arjun, is investigating Varman, an eccentric Malayali gangster operating from his base of operations in Arakkonam, who smuggles idols of gods and sells them to buyers overseas. Arjun confronts Varman’s henchman, Seenu, and demands him about the whereabouts of Varman. While getting close to nabbing Varman, Arjun suddenly goes missing, and the police department covers this up by spreading word that he may have committed suicide due to the stress of the job.

    Grieving the loss of his son and partly blaming himself for raising him to be honest and fearless, Muthuvel goes after Seenu and murders him, disposing of the body by coercing a clueless local taxi driver, Vimal, into helping him. In retaliation, Varman’s men attempt to kill Muthuvel’s grandson, Rithvik, but Muthuvel manages to save him. Muthuvel tries to convince Varman to leave him and his family alone. However, Varman does not listen to him. Enraged, he decides to fight back.

Arjun and Andrew are assigned to this harrowing case. Tragically, Andrew loses his life while confronting the killer, who is later identified as Brahma. Haunted by the trauma of this investigation, Arjun resigns from the police force. Together with Priya, he embarks on a new path by opening a cafe, seeking a tranquil existence.

    During the post-Kargil War period, Heena Rehman, who is a Bangladeshi woman supposed to be working for ISI, is killed by Bangladeshi defense minister Mirza at a party held at his house, after Mirza receives some information over the phone.

    In India, Krishna “KM” Mehra, who is an operative at the Research & Analysis Wing is devastated to know of Heena’s death because she used to be her lover for a brief time, and Heena was in fact working for R&AW, and she attempted to kill Mirza for R&AW. KM’s boss Jeev tells her that there is a mole in R&AW office who leaked the information leading to Heena’s death. KM is assigned to track down this mole selling India’s defense secrets. She establishes that R&AW employee Ravi, whose lavish lifestyle does not match his income, must be the mole and suspects his wife Charu to be his partner in delivering secrets. KM and Jeev obtain permission to have Ravi’s house electronically bugged. After some surveillance, they discover that Ravi is working for the CIA at his money-hungry mother’s insistence, and that Charu is innocent.

He threatens both her and Tara, causing the situation to quickly escalate into violence and Ajit is killed by them via strangulation. Her husband, Kanwal Lund, is an amnesiac and wheelchair-bound after an accident. Their son, Tijori, is much like Dhanlakshmi, and they commandeer over the household. The family includes Tijori’s meek wife, Punam, and his two adult children, Rocky and Gayatri. One day, Kanwal mistakes a lady for a woman named Jamini, and tries to kiss her. Rocky tries to find out more about who Jamini is, because he deeply cares about his grandfather. He finds a photograph of Jamini and starts looking for her.

    Jamini is the grandmother of Rani Chatterjee, a famous television news anchor. Rani comes from an intellectual Bengali family. Her mother, Anjali, is an English professor, and father, Chandon, is a professional Kathak dancer. Rocky and Rani decide to unite Jamini and Kanwal. Kanwal eventually recognises Jamini and kisses her in front of his family. It is revealed that they had a brief extra-marital affair back in 1978. Rocky and Rani set up meetings between their grandparents during which they start their own relationship.

    Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a loyal devotee of Lord Shiva, owns a shop outside the city’s prominent Mahakaal temple. One day, he is called to the hospital and told that his son Vivek has been up all night masturbating continuously until he fainted. Vivek’s friend explains that Vivek was bullied about the size of his penis and due to this, he became insecure. Vivek was told that masturbating will make it bigger.

    The school chairman Atal Nath Maheshwari tells Kanti about a recent video showing Vivek masturbating in the school restroom. As this is affecting the school’s image, Vivek is expelled from the school and branded a sexual deviant. Kanti’s friend, Pandey Ji, a rich priest at the temple, advises him to leave town as the situation is tarnishing their religious image. The video reaches Kanti’s wife and daughter and their entire neighbourhood. They begin to be shamed and relentlessly mocked by society. Devastated, Kanti prays to Lord Shiva for help and Lord Shiva indeed arrives.

    The Archies is a 2023 Indian Hindi language teen musical comedy film, directed by Zoya Akhtar, who co-produced it with Reema Kagti under Tiger Baby Films, and Sharad Devarajan under Graphic India. The film is a live-action adaptation of “The Archies,” a fictional rock band who appeared in the 1960’s animated cartoon, The Archie Show (with characters drawn from Archie Comics). The film stars Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi “Dot” Saigal and Yuvraj Menda.

    The Archies had been under development since March 2018, before Akhtar’s involvement as the director and producer of the film (which was officially announced in November 2021). Following an extensive pre-production and casting process, The Archies was shot from April to December 2022 in two concurrent schedules across Ooty, Mauritius, and Mumbai. Nikos Andritsakis handled the film’s cinematography, with the original score composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and Jim Satya. The former also composed the songs with Ankur Tewari, The Islanders and Saigal.

    The film was officially announced in January 2021. Principal photography began in April 2022 and was wrapped by April 2023, with cinematography by Amit Roy. The film’s soundtrack album was composed by Pritam, JAM8, Vishal Mishra, Jaani, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Ashim Kemson and Harshavardhan Rameshwar. With a runtime of 201 minutes, Animal is one of the longest Indian films ever made. It was initially set for an August 2023 release but was postponed due to post-production work.

    In 1971, Tara, a goods supplier to the Indian Army cantonment, lives with Sakeena and Jeete, who soon leaves for Chandigarh for his studies. One day, Tara is contacted by Lt. Colonel Devendra Rawat for help in supplying Indian soldiers with weapons as a skirmish is taking place with the Pakistani soldiers at the border during the Third Indo-Pak War. After reaching there, Tara is spotted by Iqbal, who orders an explosion at the border, leading to many of the soldiers getting captured. Jeete returns from Chandigarh to find Sakeena in shambles. Upon learning about Tara’s disappearance at the border, Jeete leaves for Pakistan against everyone’s wishes to rescue Tara.

    Azad Rathore is the jailer of a woman’s prison in Mumbai, who along with his gang of women/inmates consisting of Lakshmi, Eeram, Ishkra, Kalki, Helena and Janhvi; hijack a Mumbai Metro and negotiates with NSG officer Narmada Rai, to ask the Agriculture Minister to send ₹40,000 crores in exchange for the passengers’ lives. Kaliee Gaikwad, who is the fourth largest global arms dealer, learns that his daughter Alia is also one of the captives on the train and agrees to give the money. When Alia questions their motive, Azad reveals his plan of donating the money towards the loan waiver of 7 lakh farmers in the country. Azad and his gang directly transfer the funds into the farmer’s bank accounts and escape from the Metro successfully. Azad reveals his true name as Vikram Rathore to the Arms dealer through Alia.

    Meanwhile, Azad meets Narmada and her daughter Suchi, with love slowly brewing between the two of them and they eventually get married. Azad and his gang put into play another plan to kidnap the Health Minister and demand to initiate world-class infrastructure to every government hospital, in exchange for the Health Minister’s life. The infrastructure is immediately initiated in the hospitals, allowing Azad and his gang to escape again after a shootout between Narmada and her team. One night, Narmada finds out about Azad’s true identity and confronts him, but Kaliee’s brother Manish Gaikwad and his henchmen capture and torture them. However, Azad is saved by his doppelgänger named Vikram, where he is taken to a safe house. Narmada finds out the identities of Azad’s accomplices and confronts them, where she learns about Azad and Vikram’s connection.

    Meghna forms a bond with Aditi, despite her father’s caution not to let affection distract her from her mission. Simultaneously, Meghna’s boyfriend becomes aware of her destructive intentions towards her mother and warns her against her path. His defiance results in his death at the hands of Meghna’s father’s spirit.

    In an unexpected turn of events, Arjun, Meghna’s boyfriend (who was not truly dead but was a tantric practitioner helping Meghna’s father through black magic) presents her with an earthen pot (kalasa in Hindi) filled with ash. After sprinkling the ashes under Aditi’s pillow, Aditi becomes possessed, performing inexplicable actions that terrify the household. Despite suggestions from the housekeeper to expel Meghna, Radhika and Shantanu decide to keep her.

    Thousands of years ago, the demon king Lankesh gets a boon from the god of creation Brahma that he could not be slain by Devas nor demons, thus making him invincible. Elsewhere, King Dashratha of Kosala exiles his son Raghava for 14 years to fulfill his promise to his wife Kaikeyi, Raghava’s stepmother, that her son would take the throne. Raghava accepts this and lives in the wilderness with his wife Janaki and his brother Shesh in the forests of Panchavati, near the river Godavari.

    Lankesh’s sister, the demoness Shurpanakha, tries to seduce the brothers and attempts to take Janaki’s life, but after a failed attempt, the demoness ends up losing her ears and nose. Upon hearing of his sister’s humiliation, Lankesh abducts Janaki in revenge. Raghava and Shesh set out to free Janaki with the help of the Monkey King Sugriva, his aide, Bajarang, and their monkey army. With the help of the Sea God, they are able to create a bridge across the sea (Ram Setu). Raghava and his army successfully cross the ocean to reach the shores of Lanka. Meanwhile Lankesh’s brother Vibhishana is forced to leave Lanka because the later had opposed Lankesh’s decision of abducting Janaki. Vibhishana joins Raghava’s army. Lankesh is given a final ultimatum but rejects and starts a war.
